Matt Francis is currently the owner and head video director at BeatCast . The company was established in 2008 with a focus on generating quality live music films and music orientated programs. Francis makes live films of performances from artists that play at club venues like Brixton Academy , The Roundhouse and KOKO in London, and more recently has been filming in Glasgow at the famous Barrowlands concert venue.Francis shares his experience with his MYT Medium Glide Camera Dolly: "Because most shows are sold out before we are invited to shoot, we need to be as discreet and mobile as possible when creating most live films. This is where the MYT Slider comes into it's own, as there's no space for a large track and we need a high quality and compact solution that can be used onstage easily. We use the 4' Medium Glide, on its own feet (no tripod) with a Sachtler Video 18 Fluid head, to support a Sony FS7 camera, usually as part of an eight or ten camera set-up. This provides us with a moving, steady shot that would otherwise have to be handheld. All in all, the MYT slider delivers what we need in this environment really well. Additionally, the MYT Slider build quality is excellent, and it really is a work of art that you have to see, with a mixture of metal and engraved wood. It can be set-up in moments, and the quick release hi-hat is a nice touch.
