We learn that plants are pollinated by bees: pollen enters the ovum and a
seed is formed. Lesson plans cover the “birds and the bees” but what about
fungal reproduction? It seems to be glossed over all together. In fact, the
entire fungal kingdom just seems to be an afterthought. Fungi exist on
their own branch on the tree of life. Deceivingly part of
“plant-based-diets” and sitting next to fruits and veggies in the produce
section — mushrooms are not plants.
