It's what we are doing with Mindscape. Duh. Okay, so the answer really should be more than that or this post is way too short. A collaborative strategy book is many things to many people. That's because it's interactive and essentially becomes the story that the reader chooses. The reader is given key information and then provided with a number of options for which way they should take the story. In this way, they are collaborating with the writers on the story even though the writers already picked all the possible strategies for them. Still, it makes the reader feel like they are doing more than just sitting there and looking at words. Then, there is the strategy part. We all know what that means. And, we all are creating and enacting plans on a daily basis to achieve some end result. Sometimes, it's money. Other times, it's power and position. Then, it could be a person. All in all, the process is the same. Here is the goal and here is how we are going to get it. So, collaborative strategy. This is where there are multiple people and they all have a stake in that goal as well as a say in how to get that goal. Now, this can be very cumbaya or very conflicting, depending on the level of collaboration and co-operation. The interesting part comes in when it seems everyone that has a stake actually has their own agenda. Throw in multiple ways to get that goal with each person having a different idea on how to get there and most likely chaos ensues. Not that we are promoting anarchy here.
