MiFlight Blog How to Make a Long Haul Flight more Comfortable

Long haul flights are really exhausting on your body. Not only are you sitting in once place for 12 hours but the air is dry and you’re dehydrated. On top of that, the crying baby next to you is keeping you awake, and your body is constantly fighting off germs that spread through the cabin like wildfire! Even the most seasoned traveler will agree with us - traveling can be EXHAUSTING!   There are a few tried and tested ways to make your flight more comfortable.   Dress comfortably: gone are the days of dressing exquisitely to fly. Wear what you want, especially if you’re a nervous flier. Avoid caffeine: caffeine causes jitters and dehydration. Skip it! Reserve a good seat! The aisle or emergency exit seats may be more comfortable for you. Don’t feel ashamed in saving your favorite spot. Consider bringing your own food on the plane: not everyone loves airplane food! Move around - a lot! Stretching and moving around improves circulation and comfort. Drink TONS of water! Hydration, hydration, hydration! It makes a huge difference. Use a sleep aid if you need help getting some Z’s on your flight. Have a glass of wine. Why not! It relaxes the muscles and your nerves. Buy some cool flight hacking tools: a blow up travel pillow, an added footrest, an extra blanket, etc. Bring an iPad or computer to watch your own movies! Read some books. It will help time pass quickly!   Last but not least- avoid being stressed by airport wait times by using the MiFlight app!   Bon voyage!   -Sheena Wakely, MiFlight Crew Member Subscribe for our newsletter here - gomiflight.com
