Maryland: Maryland prepping back-up plans in case rebuilt health exchange falters

Better safe than sorry. While expressing confidence that a re-do with the help of Connecticut will fix what ails Maryland's health exchange, officials are nonetheless drawing up a Plan B. Maryland Health Secretary Dr. Joshua Sharfstein said Tuesday the state is going to be ready with a back-up plan — which could include processing applications by hand — if the site does not perform as expected, The Washington Post reported.
