Maryland Health Secretary Dr. Joshua Sharfstein will step down in January to join Johns Hopkins University. Sharfstein, a Harvard-educated doctor who left a top job with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to serve under Gov. Martin O'Malley, will take over as Associate Dean for Public Health Practice and Training at Hopkins' Bloomberg School of Public Health.
