High Frame Rates and How it will Change Cinematography ForeverHigh frame rate (HFR) production is a glimpse into the future of cinema, but current production methods will need to catch up to it, will require a different set of priorities for filmmakers.After watching the Hobbit at 48 frames per second, I was speecless for both the good and bad -- for some shots it was amazing, and for others shots, well... it looked less so much. After spending some time in the theater and thinking about it, I realized that it is a wonderful new technology, but management of elements like lighting, modeling and compositing are going to have to be completely reworked to take advantage of this new presentation method. It will also require much more computing power.
