Left Coast Digital Blog First week with the new Sony FS7 4K camera

We had the opportunity to get our hands on the new Sony FS7 on day one of it's release. We spent the week doing some shooting for fun but mostly some shooting for work. We shot with the FS7 alongside the RED dragon and it more than impressed. Below are our some initial thoughts as well as some single frame examples of the 4K detailed images. Overall we LOVED this camera despite some little quirks and some design weirdness. We primarily used it in a corporate setting both inside and out throughout the day but our very first experience was shooting at sunset and night at the local harbor's lighted boat parade. In dark settings or at night there was little to no bad noise due to the flatness of the image at the SLog3 setting. Other things that stood out: ND filters, Compatibility with our MetaBones speedbooster, great low light, natural grain and skin tones, integrated grip with full menu controls, built in shoulder rest, and I could go on and on.
