James is an accomplished leader within the hospitality industry who has more than 20 years of experience working for established and well known hotels and resorts across the United States. Prior to joining Lansdowne Resort, by Destination Hotels, James served as Director of Sales and Marketing at Turnberry Isle Miami. Prior to that assignment, James worked within the Destination Hotels family as Director of Sales and Marketing at Sunriver Resort in Bend, Oregon. In his role for the resort, James will call upon his vast experience to lead a team of tenured professionals in the Sales and Marketing departments. He will also work with the senior management team to pursue the resort's strategic vision over the next several years. A Southeast native, James attended Oklahoma State University where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics and played Varsity Baseball, including a trip to the 1993 College World Series. Upon graduation, he began his career in the hospitality industry. James is joined in Virginia by his wife Marilyn, and daughter Lauren. During his free time, James enjoys playing tennis, golf and spending time with his family.
