Kizzu Blog Solution to Kizzu Sound Problem on iPad/iPhone

Lately we've noticed that more and more kizzu users are experiencing sound issues on their iPhones and iPads. These issues can appear due to several reasons. Either, the system sound engine of the device crashed, sound settings are misaligned or you are using iOS 6.0 which has an audio system bug. To overcome this sound problem, we propose following these steps:1) Check the hardware mute switch and audio volumeIt's quite easy for kids to toggle the mute switch on the side of your iPhone or iPad. Check whether the switch is flipped on/off and turn the sound all the way up by holding the volume up button.2) Check the software volume lockIf the hardware mute switch was not the issue, then it could be the software volume lock. This is a quite confusing little feature, that most people aren't aware of. It mutes most app sounds, rather than the entire audio. Netflix still works, for example, and you can still hear sound with your headphones. However, it is easy to fix:Double tap the home button to open the task bar.Swipe to the left to bring up the multitasking status bar, which looks like this:Now turn off the lock by tapping the speaker icon3) Refresh the sound engineYour iPad's sound engine could be crashed by another app. You can refresh the sound engine by:opening the settings on your iPadunder general, tap on sounds, minimise the volume bar, maximise the volume bar again.4) Quit all apps that are running in the backgroundApps that are running in the background can affect the audio function in other apps. To avoid this, simply quit all apps. You can do this by:double tapping the home button to open the task bar, (On the task bar, you see all the apps that are running in the background)hold down one of the apps for half a second until a minus sign appears, now tap the minus signs to close the apps permanentlyYou should also close all kizzu apps. Then reopen any kizzu app and check if sound is available.5) Restart the deviceSound issues also might appear due to a corrupted internal state. Just restart the device by holding down the home button and the power button for 10 seconds.6) Delete the app and re-download itIf the app is corrupted and crashing constantly, it is best to delete the app and re-download it. Make sure you're logged in with the account you purchased the app in the first place. Don't worry, you won't get charged again.7) Make sure the device is not connected to a docking stationThe connection to a docking station can prevent the sound from playing.8) Upgrade to the latest version of iOSIf none of the previous steps solved the sound issue, then you are probably using iOS 6.0. There is an audio system bug in iOS 6.0 that automatically mutes (or crashes) the system when you take certain actions (e.g. invoke Siri or use lock screen). Usually, one of the other 7 steps solves the sound issue. But the best fix is to upgrade to the newest version of iOS, where the audio issue should not occur. We hope that one of our eight proposed solutions was helpful for you. If you found another way to solve the sound issue, please let us know in the comments. If anything remains unclear, please comment as well or email us at hello@kizzuapps.com.
