King's Church London Blog Newday 2022

'We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord.' Psalm 78:4Deb and I had the privilege of visiting Newday for 24 hours this week and have returned feeling very encouraged.Upon arrival we quickly tracked down the King's Church London site. There was a great atmosphere in the camp, and I was impressed by the commitment and servant heart of the team serving our teenagers, who are being brilliantly led by Zoe Blackmur. It was also good to have Kwaku Osafo, one of our elders, with his wife Lucy, on site to support the team. After checking in with King's we joined the crowds heading to the arena for the evening meeting. We then had the joy of seeing our own King's team leading worship and hearing Andrew Wilson speaking out of the first half of Romans. It was an excellent evening, and very encouraging to see so many young people worshipping wholeheartedly and responding to God.As a parent, I know how significant Newday was for my own boys and their friends as they were growing up. There is no doubt the annual event has been a blessing to 1000s of young people for many years, and it was fantastic to see it up and running again after a two year pause because of Covid. I believe Newday is a great example of how we can collaborate across different spheres within the Newfrontiers wider family.
