Over the last two Sundays, we have held four membership mornings (one at each site) for anyone interested in finding out more about King's and what it means to be a member. We have been running these for many years, but these were the first we had been able to put on since before Covid. We were therefore very encouraged to have 102 people attending over the two Sundays! Having to close services during the pandemic was challenging for all churches, but I was excited to hear stories from people who had joined us online and are now attending in-person and getting involved in community life. How fantastic to see so many now considering the next step of becoming a member. Having to rely on online services for all those months was far from ideal, but God was still at work.Deb and I are on holiday for the next two weeks, but shortly after we return one of my favourite events of the year will be taking place: King's Church Picnic will be going ahead this year (weather permitting) on Sunday July 17th at Ladywell Arena in Lewisham. This is always a fun afternoon, suitable for all ages, with games, sporting competitions, barbecue and ice cream vans. It's a great chance to gather with friends and catch up with people from different sites. As always, entry is free, just bring a picnic (or cash if you want to take advantage of the barbecue and ice creams) and something to sit on. I encourage you to get the date in your diary.
