Juniper Networks: Juniper Demonstrates Post-Quantum Cloud Connectivity Using QKD

Juniper Networks has joined forces with LuxQuanta, lyntia, and Merqury Cybersecurity to demonstrate quantum-secure connectivity between on-premises data centers and Amazon Web Services (AWS). The demonstration, conducted at the AWS Direct Connect site in Madrid, showcased a live deployment of quantum-safe encryption over a realistic production environment, securing cloud access across lyntia's optical fiber backbone. The architecture featured a point-to-multipoint quantum network that used dynamic routing over lyntia's existing metro fiber infrastructure. LuxQuanta's Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) systems delivered encryption keys, which were paired with Juniper's AI-native security portfolio for robust data protection. Merqury Cybersecurity layered in Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) to bolster cloud connectivity, delivering a multi-layered security framework built for resistance against future quantum computing threats. Governments globally have identified data centers as critical infrastructure, and this collaboration signals growing industry momentum toward integrating quantum-resilient cybersecurity into live telecom networks. The successful integration of diverse technologies from multiple vendors demonstrates the feasibility of quantum-ready security frameworks and lays the groundwork for broader deployments.
