A lot of fans have been asking if I'm coming back to star in the final Digimon movie next year. Toei Animation has already confirmed that a new Digimon movie is in fact in the works for 2020, titled Last Evolution. I’ve been the voice of Tai since the original Digimon series aired on Fox Kids way back in the early 2000s. I also starred in the original movie, aptly named “Digimon the Movie”. I then returned to the franchise a few years ago when we started work on the Digimon Adventure Tri series of films. We’ve made 6 Adventure Tri movies so far and they’ve all been well received in the their theatrical releases. I’ve been greeted by big crowds at every ComicCon I’ve appeared at since they came out. Plus the original Digimon series has a whole new generation of fans now that it’s available on Hulu.So all in all, I have a 20 year history as the star of Digimon and would love for that to continue. But the reality of the situation is, I’m not the producer and I don’t own the studio, so it’s not up to me. Fans have been asking me about this on social media A LOT. So here's my statement: https://comicbook.com/anime/2019/10/21/digimon-star-hopes-to-return-for-animes-last-evolution-film/
"I will always voice Tai on Digimon *if* I am asked. But that’s not up to me. The only reason I even knew they were recording Tri was because the fans on social media told me. As of now, no one from the studio has asked me, but I’m hoping that they will. There’s still time."Thanks to Comicbook.com for the article. And thanks to the fans for all the support of Digimon and my involvement with it as the voice of Tai, the leader of the Digidestined, over these past 20 years.
