Right before the current distancing rules went into place, I went to a smithing lesson with my dad, brother, and my two oldest boys. This lesson was an experience we won't soon forget. Driving home, I started thinking about how the lessons we learned that day might apply to life outside the forge. Here are a few things we learned: It's okay to stay in the heat. The hotter the metal gets, the easier it bends, and sometimes it even becomes stronger. The same is true in life. The more intense things get, the more flexible and strong we become.Hot metal has the priority. Keep your head up. Be ready. It's okay to apply your twist. In any direction you'd like to go. When we twisted the metal, we realized that there each piece was going to be unique; no two twists would be alike. Everyone's twist is different. Remember that. It's okay to let off some steam. 'Nuff said?Embrace the heat. Keep your head up. Have empathy. Let off some steam. Forge ahead.- MattCast: James & Matthew
