However, if you're wondering exactly how they work, you're not alone.We created several videos which show how these various strapping tensioner tools are used for your convenience.The BasicsStrapping is used when bundling things together, from bricks or lumber to pipes, bridge banding and everything in between. It can be fairly simple to apply stainless steel strapping in almost any application if you use the proper tools. These tools will not only apply the proper amount of tension needed to properly secure your product; it will also do so safely ensuring that the tail is safely cut after the completion of the application and everyone completes the job with their fingers intact!Depending on what type of application you have, you may want to choose a different tool. Light Duty ApplicationsOur T1902D tensioner tool is designed for lighter duty applications with 3/8" - 3/4" x .025 strapping. The pistol grip allows makes it excellent for insulation and pipe covering uses.Insert the band through a closed seal, and pass the end of the band under the package.Thread again the bank through the seat under the top band.Then bend the end of the band back and under the seal.Slide the band to the slot of the pusher bar and underneath the holding dog.Squeeze the handle to tighten the package.Crimp the seal with a sealer and break the excess band by moving the tool up and down.Heavier Duty ApplicationsThe T101 is designed for heavier duty applications, and will tension, cut and crimp steel strapping when used with "wing seal" type clips.Pro Tip: Lengths of strap can be handled safely, easily and economically by placing the reel or box underneath at the side of the shipping bench.
