One thing we see among some of our customers and prospects is that reports and dashboards are commonly only seen and used by management. However, when data and key metrics are made accessible to rental coordinators, mechanics, accountants, and salespeople, it can be a game-changer. When employees “on the floor” know how they are performing and can clearly see the tasks ahead for the day, they are empowered to work efficiently. And though it is cliché, this translates into a better experience for employees and customers alike. But what does this idea of data transparency and accessibility look like in real life?
At InTempo, we build custom dashboards for our customers to match their needs and business processes. Here are some examples from one of our customers, Craneworks, which has locations throughout the southeast.
Let’s look at an example of the rental “Control Center” we’ve built versions of for a number of our customers. These dashboards contain only the most important information that employees need to make decisions. As with Craneworks, a growing number of our customers are displaying similar dashboards on large monitors behind the counter, in the shop, and elsewhere throughout their stores. Now let’s dig in. Here’s an example of the home screen, which can be customized with a logo and imagery of your choosing.
From here, you can link to multiple reports and dashboards. Different versions can be set up for each location where applicable. Now we’ll look at the Rental Center dashboard.
This dashboard shows us OEC% by equipment status at the top. Next is a list of upcoming reservations, exchanges, and pickups. Our customers use this to show their rental counter and operations coordinators what to focus on. The color shading shows reservations that have a date and time out within two hours of the current time. This helps rental coordinators prioritize their orders.
Next, let’s look at the Fleet Status dashboard.
In addition to utilization stats, this dashboard provides management with easy-to-digest information on their equipment. It can be company-wide and then broken down by each location. You can click the plus sign to expand to see equipment in each status. The “pics” field links to a Google drive containing photos documenting equipment condition.
Next is the Field Service log.
This shows field mechanics the information they need to prioritize which machines to service along with the work order information and the customer information the equipment is on rent too.
Finally, we'll take a look at the Service Center Dashboard. This can be set up on large screens in the shop so it's easy for mechanics to prioritize their work.
Together, these dashboards provide crucial information not just for management, but also for rental coordinators and mechanics.
