This program prepares students for careers in the insurance industry by instilling a fundamental understanding of the insurance industry and the various jobs within the industry. Students will learn the fundamentals of business such as management, business law, ethics, and economics. Students will also take three insurance-specific courses that will help to prepare them for a variety of careers within the industry such as accounting clerk, claims adjuster, and benefits specialist. Because the goal of the Insurance Studies program is to obtain an associate degree, you do not need to take all of the gen-ed courses you would be required to take at a liberal arts college.
