A truck explosion at Mohawk Asphalt Emulsions/Cady Co. in Schenectady County, New York injured three people yesterday. The explosion was caused by a heated valve igniting vapors from a mixture of asphalt and kerosene into a tanker truck, according to a statement from the Department of Environmental Conservation. As of 4 p.m. yesterday, the fire had been put out and runoff was contained to the site, according to the statement. The incident is under investigation.
