Global Laser Scanning & Land S Blog 3D Laser Scan and Model of Industrial Processing Equipment in Utah

Providing 3D laser scanning and modeling services to industrial clients in Utah happens on a regular basis at Diamond Land Surveying. We provide laser scanning for both industrial clients and the contractors who provide construction or equipment repair services for them. We recently completed a 3D scan and model project at one of our Utah area oil refining clients. (See our 3D laser scanning page for other images of this type of project). In the images attached to this post your can see both the actual image and 3D model of the piece of equipment scanned. This large piece of equipment was scanned onsite at the refinery prior to removal for maintenance. It was then removed and taken to an offsite facility for work - where we took this picture and performed an additional scan. After scanning was complete the project then goes to 3D modeling at our office. The customer received a 3D rendering of this piece of equipment. This allows the client to assess the exact dimensions of the equipment to assist in repair or replacement of parts (for both ordering and retrofitting) and ultimately assists in the re-installation of the equipment.See more about As-Built Surveys.
