Auckland-based Fusion5 has acquired Optimum.consulting, an Microsoft partner specialising in Dynamics 365 and Power Apps.Formed in 2022, Optimum has expertise in the retail and ecommerce, manufacturing and wholesale sectors.Fusion5 CEO Sven Martin said the acquisition of Optimum, which became part of the systems integrator from 1 October, presents benefits to both businesses."We have considerable Microsoft capability and a wide range of transformation, advisory, integration and CIS (cloud, infrastructure and security) skills that will complement Optimum's offerings," said Martin.This acquisition will also help Fusion5 to focus on vertical markets like manufacturing, e-commerce and retail, he said."Bringing Optimum on board rounds out our Microsoft offerings and strengthens our commerce and retail industry experience," said Martin. "It reinforces that we are a local partner who can scale to take on transformation projects of any size."This acquisition comes off the back of Fusion5's purchases of IntegrationWorks in July and GoCloud in June, supporting the business' strategy to become a scaled systems integrator."We are focused on growth across the board - from building a significant AI (artificial intelligence) team to investing heavily in our data, infrastructure, security and integration practices," said Martin.Matthew Lingard, Optimum CEO, said the acquisition presents significant opportunities for its employees (close to 60) and customers."Optimum and Fusion5 are closely aligned in terms of our culture and entrepreneurial spirit," he said.Lingford added that the benefits of the deal for both its team of nearly 60 employees and its customers "made the decision to join forces easy".
