Have you
ever wondered what you would want to do if you knew you were dying? What kind of places would you want to
visit? What kind of “adventures” would
you want to have? How would you live
your life if you knew you were going to die? There are
many people in the world who have considered these questions very
seriously. They have put deep thought
into what their actions will be in the near future. These people have done this because they have
been given a death sentence. Whether by
a court implementing the death sentence or from a doctor providing the
devastating news of a terminal illness, these people have had to decide what
they would do with their lives before time runs out. Now it’s
your turn. You have just been notified that
you have been given both the death sentence for your crimes and you have also
been diagnosed with the terminal “illness” called life. What do you do now? For those
of you ready to have me committed, here are some scriptural references for you
to consider: “for all have sinned”
(Romans 3:23), “the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23), and, “take up your
cross daily” (Luke 9:23). God has told
us that we have all sinned and that the punishment for our sins is death. There is your terminal illness…You were born
to die! And, to top
it all off, you are to die to yourself daily.
The cross is a tool used for execution just like a lethal injection or a
hanging. In order for Jesus to live
through you, you must not be living worldly. So, now
that you know you are a “DEAD MAN WALKING”, what do you do? Do you party like it’s your last night on
earth? Or, do you serve God like it’s
the day before eternity? The choice is
yours. May God
bless you and keep you safe in all that you do in His name. Remember, the fastest way up is to kneel
down. I encourage you to realize that
