Immunity Boosting Tips and Tinctures to Keep You WellIt is a wild time out there, as you are well aware, and with so much panic and unknown in the world, the absolute best thing to do is give yourself maximum self-care and compassion! With my personal knowledge and background in holistic health, research from experts, and recommendations from leaders in the wellness industry, I want to share with you my top tips and remedies for keeping your mind, body, and soul as healthy as possible. Make sure to read all the way through for wellness recipes!Let’s jump in...Breath- During moments of stress and anxiety, practicing slow and controlled breathwork is number one. According to Ushealth.org, Deep breaths ‘allow your body to fully exchange incoming oxygen with outgoing carbon dioxide. They have also been shown to slow the heartbeat, lower or stabilize blood pressure and lower stress.” Tip- next time you feel your heart rate rise and breath shallow, try this technique: Close your eyes and inhale through your nose for 8 counts. At the end of your inhalation hold your breath for a few seconds; then deeply exhale out of your mouth for 8 counts allowing all of the air to release. Hold your breath for a couple of seconds at the end of your exhalation. Repeat 6-8 times, and by the time you finish, you will feel more centered, calm, and grounded. To increase oxygen and recycle stale air, place plants in every room of your house and open windows at least a crack.Sleep- The importance of sleep is crucial for regulating hormones, renewing your cells, and boosting your immune system just to name a few. So many of us suffer from sleep deprivation. In truth, quality sleep has been one of my biggest health struggles and I constantly strive to find methods to improve my own. Tip: Beyond turning off screens an hour before bed, making sure your room is dark, and keeping the temperature between 65-70 degrees, I have found that supplementing with Magnesium Calm, breathwork before bed, and sipping on tea such as camomile helps me get the quality sleep I need to wake up fully functioning and thriving. What works best for you?Sweat- In general, sweat helps regulate body temperature, detox heavy metals, chemicals, and unwanted bacteria from our systems. Sweat from exercise helps with all of the above, along with improved circulation and blood flow (your chi), mood, sleep quality, and overall health. So crucial!Tip: Right now many of you are avoiding gyms, especially if you have already compromised immune symptoms. I invite you to join me online every Tuesday and Thursday at 3 pm PST for LIVE online classes which you can do right from home. I will be announcing new class times next week. If you are interested in one-on-one virtual training and health coaching, please reply to this email and I will set you up with a free consultation!Supplement - It is true that the best sources of nutrients come directly from whole foods; especially leafy greens, cruciferous veggies, berries, high quality local and organic meats and proteins, and healthy fats such as almonds and avocados. Right now is a great time to give ourselves an immune boost by taking extra care of our gut health, reducing inflammation, and supplementing with essential vitamins and minerals such as a B complex, D vitamin, Omega 3’s, zinc, magnesium, calcium, and C.Tip: Here are my top supplement recommendationsPlay- This is so important for your mind and soul. Your beliefs and thoughts ultimately affect your physical body in either a negative or positive way.Tip: My lovely Palm Springs Retreat co-host Natasha Edwina (M.A., LMFT, CMC), shared these mental considerations for the latest pandemic. With that, we both encourage you to make time to get out in nature, laugh, and place your focus on joys in your life, as it is all so important for boosting your immune system and keeping you well. We hope you consider joining us in Palm Springs this June :).Remedy- When I was in high school I worked at a local organic juice bar and loved coming up with various concoctions and tinctures for health to fight off bugs and boost the immune system.
