Fellow Robots Blog SXSW- "One Robot Doesn't Fit All"

Our CIO, Thavidu Ranatunga, flew into Austin, Texas, 2 weeks ago to speak as a panelist for a panel in South By Southwest!The panel discussion, titled "One Robot Doesn't Fit All", was held with fellow panelists Wendy Ju (Executive Director of Interaction Design at Stanford University's Center for Design Research) and Leila Takayama (Human-Robot Interaction researcher at Google X). The discussion was moderated by Nuri Kim (product designer at Uber).The panelists spoke about their work on designing and researching with robots and opportunities and concerns that we should have as we enter the robot age. Wendy Ju showed her light-hearted research video of the qualities humans displayed when encountered with a robot. Thavidu told us that he tremendously enjoyed the cross-pollination of random topics and ideas that arose over the 4 days of the festival. He spoke to many different people, armed with a range of expertise and interests and got to meet the Silicon Valley cast (who were as hilarious offline, as they were on TV).Glad to hear that you enjoyed the festival.
