As reported on by both TWC News Austin and the Austin Statesman, here's your first look at the new ticketing and check in area, surrounded by retro canopies to shelter travelers from weather at the Austin Bergstrom International Airport South Terminal. FabriTec was contracted by Hunt Construction Group, Inc to construct several tensile shade structures at the new South Terminal at ABIA back in October of 2016. A series of 23 inverted cone-like shapes, with square corners, welcomes passengers at curbside with a minimalist, modern style complimenting the terminal's overall mid-century theme. The membranes are an opaque white PVC with a total fabric surface area of 14,030 sq. ft.
