European WaterCare has launched its iX Ice line of filters for all major brands of flakers and cubers.The new filters ensure ice brightness, clarity and taste while reducing filtration costs, guarding against equipment breakdown and helping protect the environment. The product addresses the increase in energy costs and reduction in ice quality and production that results from ineffective filtration, the company said.The "filters remove chlorine to improve water colour and odour while protecting against potential cyst and bacterial build-up," European WaterCare added.The systems comprise 20 micron pre-filtration, silver-impregnated granular activated carbon; 5 micron post-filtration sediment filter; polyphosphate scale inhibitor; and a post-filtration carbon block for additional protection.A European WaterCare spokesperson said: "The iX Ice five-stage filtration system... provides a new way to cut filtration costs, inhibit scale build-up and reduce a company's carbon footprint. Two capacities of 35,000l or 65,000l at 180ppm are offered and a range of connections is available to suit diverse machine brands."
