BERLIN, November 19, 2019 - I had the pleasure of meeting the Grin community at Grincon1 in Berlin, where I gave a presentation about ASIC development and its unique technical challenges. The goal of the presentation was to educate the community on the following:The different types of Blockchain ASICsDevelopment timelines and processesChallenges and memory architecture choices for Grin ASICsEconomic and competitive issues in the Grin mining marketI’ve included links to the presentation and video below and as you can see, it was well received with the post Q&A sparking some lively discussion.

On a personal note, it was great to meet everyone - especially the Grin Developers, @tromp, @qlesceller, @hashmap, @yeastplume, and Jasper. Thanks for all your contributions and hard work! And finally, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Grin!
As of January 15, 2020, Grin is officially 1 year old and it has the distinction of being the 8th most profitable coin to mine at $46 million USD annual rewards. This places Grin ahead of more established coins such as Monero and Decred!
To note, ePIC has been actively developing products for the Grin ecosystem including:
Single chip C31 ASIC with 512MB of embedded SRAM memory
ePIC Boost Grin software miner for AMD GPU
Sapphire 16GB Grin GPU
Looking to the future, ePIC intends to continue our relationship and contributions to the Grin community by developing an ASIC for the Cuckatoo32 algorithm. The biggest challenge in designing this is to pick the optimal memory size while maintaining the best price – performance – yield trade-offs, given the complexity of the Grin ASIC. Keep on Grinning ...Henry Quan, CEO - ePIC Blockchain(Please post your comments below if you have any questions or feedback.)
