Happy Monday! The world is still upside down, and I hope you’re enjoying the view where you are!AN INTERESTING PERSPECTIVE ON THE LIMITS OF MODERN MEDICINE (WITH A SIDE EFFECT OF HOPE) Are you seeing what I’m seeing? It seems that news feeds everywhere are featuring a single story that could be titled: “The Limits of Modern Medicine”. With peace and love and humility for the incredible contributions made by the brightest, most dedicated, and gifted of our medical community, and certainly for the lives that have been saved, I still can’t help but scratch my head about the current medical response, and it’s treatment options. It’s becoming clearer and clearer, it’s not about the virus. It’s about the body’s internal conditions in response to the virus. So why not find out what’s needed to optimize the internal conditions - which is different for everyone? It’s a solution of precision health care. With a relatively simple approach, we (Nutrition Response Testing practitioners) are able to “scan” a body, identify where it’s weak, and develop a program to provide the exact nutrients needed to advance healing. We’re able to clarify which foods are most supportive, and which foods are best to avoid, all unique to that body and at that time, and 90+% get better, regardless of condition. It’s not easy to design the perfect system, but in my experience, this is the closest thing to it. Humbly :). You may say I’m a dreamer, but in my parallel universe, the inclusion of Nutrition Response Testing contributes a powerful modality for this and future pandemics. Chiropractic has its role too. Our methods are less accessible in this current crisis, but the good news is, there is a viable way to account for our precise, individual needs - and it only makes all the difference. BREATHE for your HEALTH Some of you may know of the powerhouse, Wim Hof, AKA, “the Iceman”. Wim Hof is known for setting world records including the longest swim under ice and the fastest half marathon run barefoot on ice and snow. He once invited medical researchers to inject him directly with viral endotoxin so that he could demonstrate his superhuman immunity. His blood showed a resistance to the “cytokine storm” characteristic of endotoxin (infection) exposure. We’ve heard a good bit about the cytokine storm as the most serious complication of people dying of COVID 19. Here’s Wim Hof’s breathing method: 1. Controlled hyperventilation: The first phase involves 30 cycles of breathing. Each cycle goes as follows: take a powerful breath in, fully filling the lungs. Breathe out by passively releasing the breath, but not forcefully. Repeat this cycle at a steady pace thirty times. Hof says that this form of hyperventilation may lead to tingling sensations or light-headedness. 2. Exhalation: After completion of the 30 cycles of controlled hyperventilation, take another deep breath in, and let it out completely. Hold the breath (with lungs empty) for as long as possible.3. Breath retention: When strong urges to breathe occur, take a full deep breath in. Hold the breath for around 15 – 20 seconds and let it go. The body may experience a normal head-rush sensation. These three phases may be repeated for three consecutive rounds.OFFICE UPDATE Consults and deliveries continue this week. We are here for you, with love in abundance!
