Yesterday at the Ignite conference Microsoft gave the first info on the new version of SharePoint, the 2016. First, as you can see from the picture, they confirmed periods of release of the public beta (Q4 of 2015) and of the stable version (Q2 2016). Along with this confirmation, we have been given information about the timing of the release of updates for both the OnPremise SharePoint 2016 and Office 365. It has not changed much compared to the situation we had until now. I would say that they consolidated the situation. First to SharePoint Online and, more generally, for all other Office 365 products, which continue to be updated monthly as already for quite some time, we have a website dedicated to check the official roadmap: http://roadmap.office.com Very comfortable. About SharePoint OnPremise, he remained more or less all the same: there will be new features through the major release the cycle of new versions will be of 2/3 years They will be released in the middle of the service pack the features that will be added to Office 365, probably will be in future versions OnPremise I'm always of the idea that for a product like SharePoint this is a cycle a little too tight. For companies of high caliber, starting with an intranet migration with many customizations and many content every 3 years is really diffucult, especially here in Italy. This basis is rather good for those who want to start with the new installations and can thus be updated functionality with release dates really close to each other.
