DCG Systems: Hillsboro microscope maker spends $160M on company that will help it find defects

Hillsboro-based FEI is buying Fremont, California-based DCG Systems Inc. in an all-cash $160 million deal. The news was announced as part of the company's third quarter financial results. FEI, which makes high-end microscopes and other instruments for nanoscale applications in semiconductor, industrial and scientific sectors, is picking up DCG to boost its capabilities within the semiconductor market.
