Corey Watson Blog A project about startups

I started this project to photograph and tell the story of local entrepreneurs. My goal is to inspire others (and myself) to chase their dreams and show them (and myself) that success as a small business is within reach. So, over the next few months I will be photographing portraits of the entrepreneurs I meet and give a little information about their story. I want these photos to be about the person. No crazy lighting setups or elaborate post production work. Just showcase the individuals doing what they do. The first person I photographed for this project was Bryan Willis from Willis Cycle Works. He owns and operates a motorcycle shop. He works on everything from cruisers to sportbikes to $50,000 customs. In '89 Bryan really started getting into motorcycles. Bryan has lived in other states but he started working on motorcycles in his garage he was living in Oak Ridge. Bryan said it was just a hobby of his that eventually got out of control. After a tour in Iraq he had more work than his garage could handle. He decided to open shop! Bryan has currently been in business for a little over 3 years in Knoxville."My wife encouraged me to turn working on motorcycles in my garage into a full on service and maintenance shop."
