CM+ was commissioned to design and prepare documentation to adaptively reuse the heritage listed building 'The Terraces' at the Scottish Hospital in Paddington, converting it into Independent Living Units (ILUs), as part of a broader complex of residential aged care accommodation. The building was constructed in the 1850s in the Georgian architectural style, with Art Deco additions and alterations undertaken in the 1930s.The building, currently under construction has nine ILUs inserted into the heritage fabric has been carefully restored. All apartments have either a private courtyard or balcony with a shared lounge area and a covered link providing access to other on site facilities.A Heritage Impact Plan has also been prepared, providing guidelines for interpretation of the site's history including the original 1850s terraced gardens and preservation of some of the original trees.Cast: Conybeare Morrison
