Completion Tutoring & Mentoring Program Blog Life Lessons In Action

Wonderful experience and example to share:Two women, one 35 - 40ish, the other 19 - 20... The young lady mistakenly bumped into the slightly older lady and looked as if she was sincerely about to apologize but before that could happen it was as if a bomb went off and the older lady laid into her something awful. After about a 2 minute rant, the older lady said "Who do you think you are?" where the younger lady said in a very calm, respectful tone "I was trying to apologize, firstly are you ok?" and the older lady said "I'm fine" still somewhat sternly and the younger lady continued: to answer your question "I am a respectful young woman who thankfully does not have to think about who I am" (Biggest grin appeared on my face) she went on: "hopefully now you remember me and not all of the others". Short, sweet, perfectly done. Almost immediately you saw the frown lines disappear in the face of the older woman as they concluded their conversation in compliments and a smile on both faces.A great example of compassion, understanding, confidence, respect and excellence. The young lady, in her actions probably changed the other women's perspective on the younger generation of women succeeding her. While no group is perfect, isn't it wonderful to experience greatness in our younger generation.I wish I would have had the foresight to grab my phone and video tape it as this was one I'd have loved the kids to see. No worries, I did have the sensibility to give her my card and invite her to Completion, hopefully she is able to do so!Great start to an even Greater Day!!! Loving Life Lessons in Action!
