Day 5, we got up early and set off to travel to Ambanja. This was expected to take 4-5 hours by road but there's a famous saying in Madagascar of "Mora Mora" which actually stands for "Take it easy"/ "Take it slow." The trip ended up taking over 8 hours! So the famous "Mora Mora" saying became a well used phrase throughout the rest of our trip. When we arrived in Ambanja it was around 3pm. We stopped in past Restaurant Patricia for lunch which ended up being the best meal of the trip. After having lunch we looked at some of the local markets and some of the group made purchases. It was like a giant market town, street markets everywhere. Back at the bus we made our way to the hotel which to our pleasant surprised turned out to be chalets by the sea called, Baobab. Definitely worth checking out! We were so lucky to be staying here for 2 nights. We managed to catch sunset and also went for a dip in the sea before we had our dinner at the on-site restaurant. An early night was called for after our long days travelling.
