The calendar shows second Tuesday of June - therefore, it's time for Patch Tuesday. Microsoft has issued this months batch of patches, which includes seven bulletins. 2 of them critical. In addition, we have gotten new versions of Adobe Air and Flash Player, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.Cloud Device has been working on the patches since pre-Patch Tuesday alert yesterday and we are deploying patches to customers at the time of writing this blog post.Microsoft Patches This June update contains two updates with the 'critical' severity label: Including the well-known Internet Explorer 8 bug, revealed by Hewlett-Packard's Zero Day Initiative - an initiative for experts to get rewards upon disclosing security exposures - a few weeks ago.The most severe of the IE vulnerabilities could allow remote code execution (RCE) if a user views a webpage using Internet Explorer and give the attacker the same user rights as the user logged in at the time of the attack. The second critical flaw in Windows deals with Office and Microsoft Lync. "The vulnerabilities could allow remote code execution if a user opens a specially crafted file or webpage" as Microsoft states in their changelog.Adobe Patches Tuesdays updates bumps the Flash Player to version 14, although without much information about any non-security changes. The update fixes a RCE (remote code execution) vulnerability, and Adobe designates these updates as "Priority 1", and recommends updating within 72 hours.
