Members of the Maths Society, called SUMS, at the University of Sheffield in Great Britain, introduced a mathematical formula to produce the perfectly decorated Christmas tree. Since this was done in the UK, the calculations that you will be doing are in the metric system. More specifically in the following equations, you will be using centimeters for all the lengths and heights. Are you ready to decorate your tree in the nerdiest possible fashion? Here are the equations you'll need: If you're just lazy to do all the calculations, the University of Sheffield has provided a handy calculator that does all the work for you in just a few keystrokes. Now all you have to do is put those equations to use, and have yourself a perfectly decorated Christmas tree. Enjoy the holidays and Merry Christmas to all!!
