Sentric Music's director of music services, Simon Pursehouse has been nominated in the Music Skills category of this year's Creative & Cultural Skills Awards. The awards shine a light on mentors and managers in the creative industries who are making a difference by passing on their skills.Sentric Music is a Liverpool-based independent music publisher that is now home to over 65,000 songwriters. The company represents hundreds of thousands of songs on behalf of songwriters, music publishers and other catalogue owners worldwide."Here at Sentric, we're firm believers of investing in youth," said Pursehouse. "By offering placements and apprenticeships to students, we've been able to train and support a number of our employees throughout their education and ultimately give them a full time job, which has resulted in valuable skill sets for the Sentric business. The help we've received from UK Music to accommodate our apprenticeships in the past few years has been wonderful and we wholly recommend other companies in the same industry to take advantage of the opportunities out there."The winners of this year's Creative & Cultural Skills Awards will be decided by a judging panel of leading employers in the creative industries and revealed at Purfleet's Backstage Centre on March 2, 2016.
