It was not reported whether the driver of the semi truck could have avoided the collision or not.The seriously injured driver was taken to a hospital in the Little Falls area where he succumbed to his injuries despite the efforts of medical personnel. His passenger was also seriously injured. At last report, her condition was listed as critical by an Albany hospital. Troopers with the New York State Police closed the westbound lanes of the interstate between exits 29 and 29A for several hours while they conducted their investigation.The outcome of that investigation could be of interest to the critically injured passenger since an understanding of how the truck vs. car accident occurred could prove to be crucial to any personal injury claim she makes.
