God defends His people.Psalm 5:11 "But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; Let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them; Let those also who love Your name Be joyful in You."Here we are being taught about those who are rejoicing.Those who are rejoicing are taught to put their trust in God.And, to ever shout for joy.The reason?Because God is our defense.And, all who love His name are said to "Be joyful in You"So, for the person who takes refuge in the Lord are to rejoice and sing with joy forever.A prayer is being made here at the end of verse 5:11Psalms 5:11 "But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them sing joyful praises forever. Protect them, so all who love your name may be filled with joy." NLT Version.2. God blesses His people, surrounding them with favor as with a shield.Psalm 5:12 "For You, O LORD, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround him as with a shield."Here is how this verse reads in the NLT:Psalm 5:12 "For you bless the godly, O LORD, surrounding them with your shield of love."God blesses the godly, or the righteous.God surrounds His people with His shield of love.Some additional thoughts:1. God can be trusted, because He is light and there is no darkness at all in Him, and He is faithful2. We have so much to sing about down here, and wait till we get to heaven, what singing we will do.3. God is our defender. He will let us defend ourselves if we choose to, or we can let Him be our defense.4. God loves us so much that He sacrificed His only begotten Son, to die for our sins, and provide eternal life to us.A prayer:Father, thank You for the truths about You in these two verses. You can be trusted, and we want to trust You, and we ask that You would help us to trust You. Thank You that we are going to be singing joyfully for all eternity, what a glorious future awaits us Lord. And thank You Father for protecting us. You are truly a shield about us.
