Bytes: Bytes Systems Integration to provide biometric technology to South Africa Post Office

Bytes Systems Integration (BSI) has won contracts worth R220 million (roughly US$18.5 million) to supply biometric technology to the South African Post Office (SAPO) to support its delivery of social security grant payments, according to an announcement. The solution will capture fingerprints with HID Global's Lumidigm Multispectral Imaging (MSI) fingerprint readers, and verify them in real-time by connecting to the Home Affairs National Identification System (Hanis) and the SAPO biometric verification engine.
