Bryant University Physician Assistant Program Blog Mass Pharmacies No Longer Acceptin Prescriptions For Schedule II Drugs From Out of State PAs

Practice AlertAs part of the effort to control diversion, the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy has prohibited filling of prescriptions for any Schedule II medication written by out of state PAs. Prescriptions from out of state physicians from bordering states will continue to be filled as usual. This prohibition does not affect PAs licensed in Massachusetts.To prevent inconvenience to patients using a pharmacy in Massachusetts have a physician sign any prescriptions for a Schedule II. If you hold a Massachusetts PA license and CSR you may use that identifier to write the prescription.
