We did it, Brewbots are shipping! Today, the first units left Brewbot HQ, and we wanted you to be the first to know.It's hard to put into words just what that means for us, and what the atmosphere was like in the office today when we hammered the last nail into the lid of the first crate. We're finally fulfilling what we set out to achieve when we came to Kickstarter two years ago with but a prototype and a vision. These two years have been challenging. It's true, hardware is hard. With hardware you lose some control, delays are out of your hands and they can easily escalate. Our lowest points as a team were telling you that you would have to wait a little longer. We'll always remember that you backed us, it was you who believed in us and in this project, which set us off on this crazy journey, we are eternally thankful for that. After blood, sweat, and tears, we're now at the point where we have a version of Brewbot that we're proud to call 1.0. This is a major milestone for us, for all of us, and we know there is still a long way to go.With your Brewbot, there is an underlying opportunity to change how the beer industry operates. It's not fair that brewers get as little as 9% of retail value of the beer we all enjoy. Inefficiencies in the value chain, such as supply of ingredients and distribution costs, make it difficult for the brewers and consumers, that's why we're seeing big beer companies jumping in. By brewing locally, sharing beers digitally, collaborating on recipes together, and becoming closer to our ingredient suppliers, we can tip the balance back in favour of you, the brewer, and you, the consumer.Our mantra is "brew better beer", this is the lifeblood of Brewbot. Brewbot, the machine that you will have before you, is a major leap in our quest. Over the coming days, months and years, you will see more recipes and more breweries being added to the brew store, we will be adding an increasingly social aspect to the software, you will get the ability to be more creative with recipes, and the machine itself will become more powerful as we can update everything over the air.We're so excited to have you as the core of our community, you are integral to the next step in this adventure. You're going to get the chance to brew beers from your favorite breweries, create recipes and share them with friends living in different timezones, and go from being a beer lover to a fully-fledged brewer.It's not fair that you missed out on the action over the past few days, so to get a sense of the work needed to bring a Brewbot to life, we've put together a short video of us getting the machines ready to ship. You'll see that every single Brewbot is unique. They are assembled by hand, by us, here, in Belfast in Northern Ireland. When the final Brewbot was packed up today we opened up a handful of the beers we brewed in our brew lab, and wow, it's pretty amazing to think that they were brewed by people who've never brewed before, using a Brewbot.Thank you for being there at the beginning of our journey, we couldn't have done it without you. We believe that today marks a landmark moment in brewing, and you helped get us there.
