Biotechnology company Bico has announced that Rolf Classon is stepping down from his position on the board, as well as from his role as Chairman, due to health reasons. The board has appointed Maria Rankka as the new Chair with immediate effect, until a new Chairman is elected at the company's general meeting. "I am handing over to Maria Rankka with great confidence and warm regards. The board's decision ensures a continued focus on our strategy, Bico 2.0, and on driving efforts to further advance the company's position both commercially and in terms of communication. I would like to thank my fellow board members, the executive management, and shareholders for your trust and collaboration during my tenure as Chairman," said Rolf Classon in a statement. Maria Rankka joined the board at the annual general meeting in May. She is an investor and entrepreneur, primarily within Health Tech and Life Science sectors. Maria also serves as Chair of the Swedish stem cell company Cellcolabs and was a co-founder of ABC Labs, which became Sweden's largest COVID-19 laboratory during the pandemic. From 2010 to 2018, she was CEO of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce.
