With the heat in the high 90's lately, it's no wonder I came home with a sunburn after strolling through Knoxville taking some photos. It's too dang hot! Sure, fall is around the corner, but that doesn't stop the sun beams from bouncing all over the place giving you that unsightly sunglasses/racoon mask on your face! What's the best sun protection to use? Where can I find it? Would Count Dracula himself approve of it? These are questions we all ask ourselves when it come to sun protection, albeit the vampire one, and should be discussed! My personal favorite is the Sawyer "Stay Put" sunscreen, SPF 30. SPF 30 is perfect for just about anyone. If you go above that, you're skin is going to be caked with the sun screen and not be able to vent properly, which can lead to over heating. This particular brand is what I always wear. It literally STAYS PUT. I don't have to re-apply nor does it sweat off. This can be found in any Bass Pro Shops in the camping department. Sawyer also makes a great sunscreen with bug repellent, which isn't too bad with the Zica Virus scare going around Tennessee right now! Most of the time when you think of sun protection, a gooey mixture pops into your mind, right? Would you even believe in alternatives that can be used for sun protection, like shirts, buffs, and towels? Brands such as World Wide Sportsman and Columbia offer UV protection IN THEIR CLOTHING!You can check out World Wide Sportsman's line of clothing for Men and Women HERE There is also an array of facemasks, buffs, and towels that can be used to wear or drape around your neck to keep the sun off and the cool in!
