Atlas Music: Atlas signs Counting Crows in global publishing deal

Atlas Music Publishing has signed the Counting Crows to a global music publishing deal. The agreement covers the entire catalogue (excluding the band's most recent album), which encompasses multiple hit singles and LPs that have sold collectively over 20 million worldwide.Atlas will now administer such songs as Mr. Jones, Accidentally In Love, Round Here, A Long December and Colourblind."The Counting Crows have a legacy of writing hits centered around unforgettable storytelling, beautiful harmonies, superior musicianship, and of course Adam Duritz's distinctive vocals but it's also the deeper catalogue that has all of us at Atlas really excited about our new partnership with the band," said Atlas chief creative officer Jennifer Blakeman."By exposing the depth and quality of not only the hits, but the gems within the catalogue, songs like Goodnight LA, Why You Should Come When I Call, Mercury and Insignificant can speak to the leagues of loyal fans and also to a new generation of listeners. Additionally, Adam's history of nurturing young talent falls directly in line with Atlas' overall ethos....it is about the talent, not the buzz. Our entire staff embraces and celebrates the artistic ethic that Adam brings to the table and every department is thrilled to be representing Adam and the band's music globally."Counting Crows are currently on a worldwide tour throughout 2015.
