SAN JOSE, CA - Arch® Systems, leading machine data and analytics provider for electronics assembly operations, announces that Andrew Scheuermann, CEO and Co-founder, will present during SMTA International in Minneapolis, MN. The presentation, "SMT Performance Analytics - Golden Cycle Time and Automated Loss Reason Inference," will take place on Monday, November 1 at 1:30 p.m. CST. An area of utmost interest and importance to manufacturers that operate surface mount technology (SMT) lines is maximizing performance efficiency. With equipment costs routinely exceeding two to three million USD per line, optimizing speed on each work order and overall equipment utilization across many work orders and many pieces of equipment is essential. In this paper, Scheuermann discusses a new technology that uses automatically collected SMT machine data and advanced analytics techniques to automatically infer golden cycle time and identify structural losses in similar manufacturing sessions. He will discuss the application of automated loss reason inference and examples of how the increased availability of insights has enabled Tier 1 EMS manufacturers to build in expert root cause identification and build new closed loop improvement processes in the factory. Scheuermann has written more than 15 scientific papers in the fields of semiconductor electronics and renewable energy and holds a PhD in Materials Science from Stanford where he accomplished a world record in silicon photoanode efficiency. He helped build StartX, one of the world's top startup accelerators, leading the hardware program and helping scores of early IoT companies go to market. Since 2015, Scheuermann and his co-founder, Tim Burke, have led Arch Systems, now the leader in machine data extraction and analytics for electronics manufacturers, specializing in SMT manufacturing operations.
