Aramazu Blog Time Mum keeps an open mind…

My name is Time Mum, and I am a sceptic. There - I've got it out into the open and now I'm going to tell you what efforts I'm going through to change my ways. At the weekend, my husband went to see an Ayurvedic practitioner at the invitation of a friend in whom he'd confided that a lot of energy went into nurturing what his wife regards as his hypochondria. I'm afraid he had to share this confidence with a friend as I'm the sort of person who just tells family members to pull themselves together and get on with things. An hour later my husband was back - a convert - with a list of dietary instructions and a bag of supplements. This morning the performance started. First there was the preparation of cereal with hot milk, then a glass of brown water which seemed to be a concoction of ingredients of which Professor Snape would be proud, and finally the creation of a fruit salad worthy of a Michelin-starred restaurant. At least my husband had the grace, while I boggled at all this activity, to say that he felt a bit ridiculous. Do you know? I don't mind how ridiculous he feels. The most important thing is that it works for him and that he feels better. Only time will tell. I thought of his belief and my lack of it while I was looking at a very long list of comments and endorsements from parents and teachers about the Aramazu time-teaching method that had been sent to the author and creator, Jamie.
