It's 11:27 p.m. Listening to some Lincoln Brewster: "Salvation is Here" is on now.
SO much is going on to write about. So here 'tis:
Topic-"PASSION"
Not much gets your adrenaline pumping more than having the throttle of an airplane in your hands, especially when you don't have a pilot's license. Years ago I had talked a guy (a complete stranger) into letting me fly his plane with him. Seriously, I met him, we talked, I established rapport and was getting in his plane...on the LEFT side (pilot's side) in 10 minutes.
Imagine a VERY short, very green grass runway in Fitzgerald, GA. Also imagine some very tall Georgia pine trees at the end of the- did I say very short- runway? He says, "Okay, give it the throttle". My heart is POUNDING! We "roll out". The plane is bouncing down the grass. Now we are moving (I think fast). HE DOESN'T!
I am so focused on how fast the trees are getting bigger I didn't realize the throttle was only halfway in. He says, "GIVE IT GAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" and jams the throttle all the way in. He has grabbed the yoke (steering wheel to us redneck pilots) and yanks it back, almost straight up. We just clear trees.
You know, there's a difference between living life with passion and living life with stupidity. Barely missing the pine trees is exciting, not necessarily stupid. I just wasn't using the tools properly.
Now, flying over the trees upside down is stupid. You don't tempt the pine trees. They don't move.
Many people go through life not pursuing their love because they are fearful of "the risk". When the real question is: What's more important: Life...or life's guarantees. So if you need a push, a jolt, do something drastic today. Why? It's far from what you normally do. Put some Venti Latte in your schedule one time. Then go tell a friend. Hey, they may want to go flying with you!
Till we blog again...have a great day.
