Periodically, we get asked about a better way to control local store inventories. The quick response is always the same. Every organization, retail, warehouses, etc. should conduct, at a minimum, an annual inventory. But no organization should rely on an annual inventory to help with replenishment, shrinkage issues, profit projections, etc.Every organization should conduct cycle inventories. We have clients we do this for and we have clients that do this for themselves. We have clients that do neither. They are the ones who are always surprised at the year end results. Almost never are the results they were expecting. Usually, the results result in losses to the bottom line.Almost all our clients have a basic Point of Sale system. The basic POS will help you track product through it's entire life. For many, however, the POS is simply a giant (expensive) cash register.
