Discipleship is important to your journey with God. Most people get involved in some form of discipleship (Sunday School classes, small groups, mentorships, etc.) because they want to grow in their faith. This a great tool to help develop us into mature Christians; but, more often than not, what happens is we end up sitting in a classroom growing ourselves to death, never taking the opportunity to get involved in ministry. Jesus didn't disciple his 12 disciples so that they would grow in their faith; He discipled them so that they could do ministry. Did their faith grow, and was it necessary for ministry? Yes and yes; but growth wasn't the goal of Jesus' discipleship. Ministry was the goal of Jesus' discipleship. So when you get involved in small groups, Sunday School classes, or some other form of discipleship, remember that you're growing to do ministry. It's all about continuing the work of Jesus!#handsandfeet
